you can also look up some census + BMD records for free at local libraries in GB .But it takes me an hour to come up with stuff that regulars seem to find in seconds |

yes, Shae, doing family history can be costly, especially if you wish to have accurate data |

Ancestry seems a very good research site. Expensive though. :-S |

Ricochet would have read about the gassing and the other details on Charles's service record on Ancestry. |

You are forgiven Ricochet - It 'was' very hot ;-) :-D |

Sorry, Dea, missed the marriage you added. my excuse is the heat and the late hour...........lol! |

Dea | Report | 27 Jul 2014 07:51 |
I believe the 'married 18 years' is probably a mistake on Charles's part Ricochet - 'He' probably completed the form and 'he' had been married for 18 years - you will see the first marriage to 'Johanna' Barrett in 1894 which I posted on page 1. |

Des, I've just been looking for that one and can't locate it. I'd say I must have the wrong one. The info you've found is too exact. I'll keep looking through my saved records. Hopefully I kept it. Brilliant about my grandad and the bantams! Thankyou so much. X |

Shae - can you post the 1911 where you had found the father and his new wife without Charles and Thomas because if that one is right then mine and the army record can't be??? |
|||
|
Dea | Report | 26 Jul 2014 16:15 |
If the record Ricochet posted is the correct one then it shows that Charles was in the Bantam Battalion 4th (or 14th) Worcestershire Regt. so that must be where Thomas was too ? |

Wow. Where did you find that Dea? I've only seen one without Charles jnr and Thomas on it in the 1911 census. |
