As previously suggested, if your wish is to discover who lived in the building(s) after 1911, contact the County Records Office, whose details I gave you.

I'm sure I clicked on 'variations' , but I have found over the years it is frustrating trying to work out how the the information is set up in the first place on the various sites!!!! Looking again on freebmd I have now found the information you have given me.
I really appreciate the time people like yourself spend on helping members such as myself.
Again, thank you very much 'Reggie'.
Terence.

Perhaps clicking on a 'variation' would have been productive..........did you try it?
However, searching for a hyphenated name, as per your info, produced no results for the man about whom you were seeking info
There are some results for Hood-Barrs on freebmd..............look for them

"Reggie", thank you so much again!
I had just submitted my reply and scrolled up to find all your extra information!! Unfortunately the information from the Marlow Society did not have the "S" on Barrs name.
I would have thought when searching, clicking the variation of a name would have picked this up!!!
Thank you very much for this extra information.

Thank you very much again 'Reggie', 'Marie Celeste'. Also to 'Chris Ho' for information on H R Hood Barrs. As with 'Reggie' I failed to find his details on FMP and freebmd etc also. The only other information I have obtained concerning Hood Barrs was from the Marlow Society, who informed me that he put the contents of "Spinfield" up for sale in 1936 "prior to demolition", and, "It is believed there was a disastrous fire in 1937/8. The 'new' house (I visited in 2013) was built on the foundations".
Yes 'Marie Celeste', through FMP I managed to find most of the occupiers information through newspaper articles. Including an acting governor of Penang, Irish plantation/slave owners in Jamaica, some also being members of the military/judiciary, continuing their professions in England with generous compensation after the abolition of slavery by Britain in 1830. As mentioned earlier, I am willing to exchange this information with others with a similar interest. Preferably privately.
Again, many thanks to all who have helped.
Terence. (South Australia).

None of them, apart from MURRAY, who were the owners when Terence's distant relative was a servant.
The Duncalfs were in the LODGE, and as they were there during WW2, it's entirely possible that it had been requisitioned by the military.

Terence, out of the names you have mentioned which are the ones who were occupiers of Spinfield House?
The British Newspaper Archives would probably be a good resource to try.

Thank you for your reply 'Reggie', and my sincere apologies to you and others above, as I really appreciate the time you people do 'lookups' for us with less knowledge of where to search. In my frustration I had 'Green' and "Rainey' the wrong way round. As I have said, these people are not directly related to me but I have investigated the families of the occupiers of Spinfield House to add interest to the history of this building. Of course I am willing to exchange my research with anyone with the same interest. Getting back to my original request, and which has been suggested, Margaret E Lang/Long must have been married before. I have found one child so far......Michael F Duncalf, born November 1942, Wycombe 3a 2296. This is where I found his mothers maiden name of Rainey.
Again my apologies for misinformation to all of you.
Terence. (South Australia).

but....his mother's maiden name is listed as Rainey, and she seems to have married Albert C Green in the 2nd quarter of 1942 reg Aylesbury 3a 4261.
Where did that idea come from?
