I found out My great grandmother Ursula Jackson (born 1889 there abouts) was married twice.
1st to a frank g burt then appartently had a daughter Alice Olivia burt.
As you could guess my mum was dumbfounded when she found this out.
My great grandmother remarried a Walter Oakley and had two more children Kathleen and Eilleen Jackson.
Walter went looking for work never to return home.
Can anyone tell me anything on Alice or frank burt or Walter Oakley ?

Ursula Jackson was born in Australia and married in Australia and is buried at rookwood cemetery in Sydney Australia. I'm not sure where frank was born.

I cannot find anything on them I'm just hoping someone on here can help me

Are you sure about the birth year for Ursula, she would have quite old for a first marriage in 1932?

Does seem a little strange and having her 1st child Alice, then remarrying and having two more daughters to walter Oakley (my aunt Kathleen and my nana Eileen).
It was around that time frame, she passed away around 1989/90 she was nearly 100 years old yes this is very strange. My nan died 2005 at 89 years of age.

Frank Burt's full name is apparently Frank Gordon Burt ......... but that tree is private, and I can't see the details

Ursula was born in barmedman nsw and died in basin view.

actually she was only about 38 when she married Frank Burt ........................... not uncommon at that time. She could have been taking care of her parents, or working

Ursula was still a 'Burt' in 1954 so that tree looks dubious as it has Walter as dying in 1952!

I think her death certificate should name her children

I'm a bit puzzled! If she had her daughters with Walter Oakley AFTER having been married to Frank Gordon Burt then why were the daughter's surnames Jackson?

I'm wondering how the daughters were Jackson - did they all revert to Ursula's maiden name when Walter disappeared?

If Ursula was born 'Ursula Mary (Anne), then why was she Ursula MARGARET Burt on that electoral roll ?

The Ursula Burt who was married to Frank G Burt was still in Victoria in 1954 (as Gins posted above) at the same address that she lived at with Frank whilst he was alive, per the Electoral Rolls. I don't think the Ursula Margaret Burt posted above is the same person, she appears as a typist from the 1950s which implies that was when she attained voting age.
