Member Since: December 2012 Posts: 61 Send Message	Hi Looking for David Hanna born in Tubbermore Ireland C1876 he was living in Jarrow, South Shields in 1911 census and Married to Isabella Venus b 1871. He died still in the area in 1953. He did serve in one of the wars and I believe went to South Africa at one stage. Would like to know about his family and also who Isabella Venus was married to before David Hanna. The 1911 census shows her as having been born at Wallbottle, Northumberland The step children living with them show she was married and had children before David Hanna. Interestingly, the 1911 census shows they married in 1906 but I can find a wedding entry for them showing the date of marriage as 1915, after the census and after the their children David and Sarah were born! Thanks :-)

He is described as 5' 5 7/8" tall, weight 1?4 0 lbs, chest minimum 33", max 35" with a fresh complexion, blue eyes and light brown hair. His religion is Church of Ireland. He attested to the Londonderry Artillery as a Gunner 17.11.92 and was Discharged by Purchase 1 April 1894 in Londonderry. No mention of overseas service.

There are a number of Hanna families in the TOBERMORE (Tubbermore not recognised) area of Londonderry in both years. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/ Do you have David and Isabell's marriage certificate to give you his fathers name and occupation which might help a census search?

Member Since: December 2012 Posts: 61 Send Message	Wow, thank you all so much, I am new to this game and need to learn to think laterally and try different names. Everything fits together perfectly. When looking for David Hanna I did find a David Hanna in Willington Quay and married to someone else and thought it more than a coincidence that when he married Isabella Venus she had a child born at Willington Quay. Now I know where they must have met. his first wife and her first husband died but they are still shown as a married to each other in the 1911 census but actually married in 1915! And they think our generation are the liberal ones! Stunned by the information and quick replies <3 Jo :-D :-D :-D
