I don't know London either Sam, being a Salford girl, so I am just as confused as you ;-)

Will have a further explore later............ we really need a break-through on the 1901 to help us.

Jackie were all in tears here but the best is I definitely had a twilight zone moment.
My dad who is the son of Minnie and Sam died on the 4th of Dec 1961 so the 4th
always meant a lot ,today is the 4th and where they are buried is called Rainbow Gardens. When we came home I went into the garden and what was threre
a Rainbow. So to me my mam and dad knew I had found them..

Well Dea and all my friend at Genes. I wish you all a very Happy Christmas,
and health and Happiness in the coming Year
Sam xxxxxxxx

Dea,
I phoned up the cemetery and ask for info on the information you gave me.
They checked the 1919 and said he wasn,t a cab driver but the 1924 was.
I went to the cemetery. And to my surprise Minnie had a grave it was a paupers
Grave but you could pay and the council would put the name and death on it.
My grandad Sam didn't, have any thing so I left 2 poppy crosses one for each.

I don't know if Sam's is right because I trust your info more than theres
and the info you gave me on Minnie is perfect...

There are that many unmarked graves does it really a few feet apart .
Dea without you giving me the name of the cemetery and names and numbers I would never have found them. This to me is like wining the lottery and I can never thank you enough.and all at Genes.Than You Sam xxxxx

I had just started looking so I didn't know if this was him I still don't.

I didn't have anyone to confirm or deny.

Minnie was living with her daughter and my dad in 54 Broster street Salford 3

It said Minnie widow of Samuel Rogers Horse and Cab Proprieter
and my dad was present at her death
That's how I know this certificate is right.

Just as a matter of interest - what address was Minnie at when she died ?

The 1924 death of a Samuel Rogers was for a Cab Driver at 123 Crescent Road - This was the address for the Workhouse. - This might also match ??

Yes - there are 13 people in the grave and they don't seem to be connected to each other.

You have the grave numbers above - hope you can find them.

Dea
My mother said Sam was in hospital so you are definitely on to something
and the details match.Sam changed his birth that often so is this one right
His death 1919..My mother said my dad was only a child when his father died but
when you get older someone in there twenties you could class as a kid.

Dea Report 1 Nov 2016 16:59

Couldn't resist - I looked at further detail on the grave site and it gave his address as the poorhouse but he could have been in there for hospital treatment as they also served as hospitals in those days.

The only other thing it gave was his occupation as a 'Carrier' which was a driver of horsedrawn vehicles - this could well fit with the occupation given on your father's marriage cert for him as a 'Cab Proprietor' - SO.......... looking good so far !!!
