Thanks for that MarieCeleste. You have just jogged a memory. I remember my mum talking about Gwen, but I thought she was a twin. The name Vicky (Victoria?) also comes to mind. I will have a look on Ancestry and see if I can find out more when I have added Gwen to my tree there. I should have asked my mum more questions before she died shouldn't I? Bob |

I think Herbert and Gertrude had more than one child as Maurice's death notice describes him as a son and brother: |

It looks like Herbert's brother Maurice was also in Australia, a link to his service record index: |

It's amazing the information you can find with a computer ain't it? Blanche was born Blanche Chaudessolle. She was 19 years old at the time of the marriage, which took place 23rd October 1884 at the Church of St. Thomas, Bethnal green. Her father was Eugene Chaudessolle. I wonder if they went to live in France. Bob |

Thanks for your efforts, and Mike, yes it was some family. F M Fergusson was Florence Maud, my grandmother. She died in 1984 just short of her 94th birthday. She was a lovely lady and I miss her still. I have a wonderful photo, taken in about 1900, of my Gt Gt grandmother, surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law, and all 14 of their children. All the Fergusson children reached adulthood, and most of them reached a ripe old age. Please keep digging everybody. Bob |
