Deleted my post after reading the above. The birth I was looking at was not a wartime baby :-)

Sorry for being really slow on the uptake but as Jane is a nonagenarian war baby born 1914 to 1918, then was her Mother born in 1905??

jax Report 1 Feb 2014 18:28

If you was a war time baby maybe her husband was away at war and you were not his?

Think we are talking WW2 here Patchem

Hello Jane,

Would you mind answering a couple of questions please, just so we are all clear about your family and can move forward with helping you....

What year were you born?
Where were you born?
What names were you given at birth (both christian and surname)?

Any thing at all you know about your sister would also help.

It would seem, from your earlier post's, that both yourself and Patricia were born before Nellie moved to Warrington, where she married Mr Clark?

Thank you
Misty x

jax,

How can it be WW2 if Jane is a nonagenarian?

Edited: Nearly a nonagenarian.

My brothers-n-law were born in WW2 and are only in their 70's.

jax Report 1 Feb 2014 18:57

Jane hasn't said that

I would imagine she is one of the Clark/Watterson births from 1927 to 1944

The OP's birth is on freebmd - 1925

Having said that, if you were not born in 1925, Jane, perhaps you would enlighten us.

I don't understand the reference to 'wartime'..................

Jane

If you read ALL of the info posted, you will see your mother's husband's first name........................

.............sadly, as he was not named on your birth cert, you are unlikely ever to know who you father was

The marriage is posted, as are both of their deaths.

Has Jane said she was born 1925?

I read it that her mother moved to Warrington from Wolverhampton after her birth,,,,,according to the births I have found for Clark/Watterson the last child was possibly born 1944 in Wolverhampton

Why would Jane mention it being war time if she was born 1925?

Sylvia Report 2 Feb 2014 01:14

I do hope Jane will get back to us with some dates.
From what I see. Her mother was born in 1905. Jane born 1925 in Wolverhampton and her mother marrying Clarence Clark in 1926. in Warrington.

jax

jax Report 2 Feb 2014 01:21

There is only one Clark/Watterson marriage

Three births in Warrington followed by 4 births in the 40s in Wolverhampton (although one could be a mistake or the last 2 were twins??) of course they may not all be the same family

If jane says she was a war baby then would she be born 1925?

I personally think Jane was born 1942 (birth not showing on freebmd) and her sister who was possibly adopted by the Gorton family was born 1941 and as mentioned by Jude married in 1964

I have pm'd Jane and asked all these questions - Reggie you can see why I asked you if her name was an anagram of Jane :-) - I am mindful that if we are now correct in surmising the 1940's birth dates, that we are dealing with a lot of living relatives who may know nothing of the events - especially if all the Clark/Watterson births are Nellie and Clarence

Jude i wont find out who my father was just who her husband was. I was a skeleton in the cupboard for the Clark family so it was cold comfort for me to want to know much until now. She must have had an affair lasting a while because my sister looks like me i have seen photos of her, we were described as two peas in a pod. She was allowed to see my sister but not me my step mother would not allow her near me. She went back to Mr Clark after a while and Patricia was accepted into the family or so it seems. A few years ago i tried to find out where my mother and sister were and i received a hostile phone call telling me i did not exist the man would not listen to me and appeared quite violent. After that i was followed in my car and received endless anonymous phone calls over years. I am finding some pleasure in piecing the family together now but i know i would never be welcome.

Jane Report 2 Feb 2014 12:56

Reggie i put together Clarance Clark and Nellie Watterson who marriad in 1926 and it all adds up making interesting reading, at least finding my mothers family tree. She must have lived with the other man a while (my father) and i dont think there is any way of finding his name unless some one who knew about the affair and knew him was willing to talk.

Jane Report 2 Feb 2014 13:00

To Jax it occurd to me that the affair nellie Clark had with my father may have taken place whilst Mr Clark was at war in the military.

Jane, if you birth certificate gives an address for your mother, it could be worth checking it out on the electoral rolls a couple of years either side of your birth to see who she was living with.

I think your sister married again in 1986, judging by the christian names, and may now be going by the name Edwards
