Brian, you say William disappeared and did not appear on any census - but he's on 1911 (age 32) along with his brother James (28), both carters. They along with 7 other men are all "visitors" at 45 Red Lion Street, Nottingham (South East). |

There a few other things you could check out for William. There's a possible marriage in Nottingham 1916 to Elizabeth A Salmond, also a child born 1920, Violetta. Possible death, although age 2 years out, in Nottingham in 1939. All are on freebmd. |

Thanks for that reminder about freebmd Flip, I seem to think I had used it some years ago but forgot all about it after a previous absence from the tree. Now you may have to hold my hand on this, but which web site are you using to get census info about William Huthwaite? I've tried the 1911 census search facility on GenesRU for William and have drawn a blank each time. |

I found the census on ancestry - I'll find it again and PM the census image to you. |

I'm sorry for the delay in saying thank you Flip for the census image which we found very interesting. My wife may start using ancestry.com for her own tree which will give us a better chance of finding info. Thanks for the tip. |
