Find Ancestors

I don't know what passenger list you've checked, but if you look at the link to the yesteryears site (posted 5 Jan 8:01) they are listed as Forward, and Clarisa is listed as Clara Medcalf.

Many thanks. It did work - also I have rechecked the passenger lists and found the Forwards listed with the surname Henry. They are all there. Not sure why the name 'Henry' is in the surname column, which is what threw me initially. Also I had failed to notice the little 'y'. which indicated the presence of the spouse. I was looking for the name Clarissa Medcalf - but her name isn't there, simply the fact that his 'spouse' was present. Very many thanks for your patience with me, and your efforts on my behalf

If you go to Mundia.com which is a spin off from Ancestry, and is free (although you have to register) you should be able to view the tree. It has quite a lot of info, and some source documents.

Hi Flip,

Just been checking the Littleton press which listed the passengers arriving on the Huntress in 1863, and there is only one Metcalf mentioned, travelling alone. Unless the ship docked somewhere else before the disembarkation at Littleton? Not sure where the person in Ancestry got their information?
