On the post that Gins replied to she said there were Crew Lists on Ancestry. I have no idea if you have to search on the name of the ship or the name of the crew member. Knowing my luck it will be the former! |

Shirley, no - the army record is most definitely his because his son wasn't born in 1844! I wouldn't have been looking at e.g. WW1 records for someone who would have been around 70 at that time. |
