Holly, I don't have access.

But if I did, sometimes there are difficulties and a second opinion is required.

Regardless, the census returns shown here are copied from another thread which I have linked to here.

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks Shirley,

I admit, I don't know as I don't have the original birthplaces mentioned on the 1871 census - so I can't help there.

No Shirley - sorry for any confusion. I copied the 1871 census from another thread.

And have linked that to here. Sorry for any confusion.

Your efforts are much appreciated and please keep them coming.

With the greatest respect to others, I do wish people would refrain from commenting on other members' behaviors and decisions when they are not breaching any regulations. We all work in different ways and such comments, as shown here, are evidently not helpful.

I find it interesting that you mention 'breaching regulations'.

One can follow regulations whilst going against the spirit of the enterprise.

You have put that it is useful to have a second opinion.

That implies that you have a first opinion, which you cannot have if you have not got census access. You just have 'educated guesses'. You are missing out part of the full picture.

If a second opinion is 'required' then you need census access.

You could then have a full discussion as to what you have found and what others are suggesting or confirming. This is a far better way to engage in research to find your ancestors.

As a small point, if someone says 'with the greatest respect' they usually mean the exact opposite.

I do understand that my comments are of no help what-so-ever.

Indeed Patchem. Although I am not entirely sure what point you are trying to make.
I certainly don't agree with all of your points, some of which are certainly subjective.

Regardless, my main concern was to eradicate any concern or upset at the person helping with this thread.

Peter ..................

what is your relationship to these people, and the ones on your other thread?

You seem to know a lot, and yet not much. As well as making some "educating guesses", and asking for "second opinions".

Just curious ..............
