Hi everyone thanks for your help, well I have more info on Leopold John Wright he married a Georgina May, have no idea of her maiden name however, she was Canadian.

Children were John Leopold Wright b. 1928/9 or there about, Fred Wright b. 1930, Mabel May Wright b. 1935 all born in Sussex.

Hello again Marion, seeing as his wife was Georgina May then it would be the second of the two marriages that Andy posted on page 1.

I'm wondering if she was actually born in Canada or if she'd gone there as a home child? This may not be her but I'm posting it just in case:

You really do need a copy of the marriage certificate to get more family info about their fathers and ages at marriage.

Well been to my local History Research centre and trawled right through the census's
1901 - 1911 re. Leopold John Wright found nothing. Went on Ancestry, Findmypast, and came up with nothing.

Only found a marriage for Leopold John Wright & Georgina Wren,1926, Battle which is right he in fact did marry a Georgina, so all the dates fit.

Also found a Leopold John Wright b. 1885 Hailsham, Sussex. Just wondered if these two are related. He has just vanished. Hit a brick wall.

Marion, in order to trace him you need to know how more about him like age and occupation.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but without the marriage certificate you've got nothing to work from. It can be ordered from GRO and will cost £9.25, hopefully it will provide quite a bit of the information you need such as his age, his occupation, his father's name and occupation (if he knew him). The witnesses are often useful.

It's not inlikely that he was known by his middle name, as previously suggested.

Are you researching him on behalf of someone else? You have his children's names so what is the connection to him - is there anyone with any family knowledge?

The right Leopold John Wright was married to Georgina May Wren 1926, Battle, Sussex.

Leopold John Wright b. 1908, I think Hailsham, looked on the 1911 census and he is not there.

On freebmd found a Leopold John Wright b. 1885, Hailsham, Sussex. Looked on the 1911, and 1901 census not found him.

I am thinking that these two are related. Possibly father and son?????????

Yes I am working on this on behalf of someone else, now he has spoken to his Uncle Fred Wright who is now about 82 does not remember nothing about his grandfather but remembers his mother's name as Georgina May and was Canadian.

Looks like possibly do need a marriage certificate.

I will be going to our local FHS on Wednesday morning and two of will be going right through the indexes.

I got so frustrated two days ago there were two of us working on this and just hit a brick wall, just wonder why he is not on the 1911 census.

Buy the 1926 marriage cert for father's name....and Leopold's declared age

Until you know that, there is no point in anyone using any more time to look for him

There is also one of the witness's signatures is Louisa Wright.

The middle name of the witness on Leopold and Georgina's marriage certificate is Louisa Frances Wright.

This means that Leopold was born about 1886, and I thought Louisa Wright was his mother. You don't think that the signature on the marriage certificate was his mother's?

Really put a spanner in the works.

Did find a divorce for Leopold John Wright which Annie Baker filed for in1923
