Jude, I think he got the 1844 birth by doing a search on this site. However, there was an error in the transcription which gave the wrong name. |

What you're looking at on this site is not a certificate. It's a transcription of a record which (if the transcription is correct) gives you the information you need to order the relevant certificate from the GRO. But remember to check the original image. As you have seen mistakes are made. |

As has been said, Its the index your looking at and not a certificate, Note these records on the index are transcriptions, transcribed by people/humans some of these index images are far from easy to transcribe and that's not taking into account human error so always best to check the actual image that the transcription was taken from, |

Thomas H Todd b 1855 seems to disappear! I am open to suggestion but in 1881 - just three years after their marriage, Sarah is alone and their two year old son - seemingly named after his father - is with his grandparents. She is "Head" and I think it is probably "widowed"....but there is not a death that fits before she marries again in 1886. |

Michael please do.....it might be worth a £9.25 punt on Thomas H Todd to Lilian Francis White...if only to see what he says about HIS father. On the face of it, his father died just after he was born and his mother remarried....but I just can't find a death for his father :-S |

It may not be relevant but Thomas's brother Ivor born 1850 also seems to disappear after the 1871 census, maybe just a possible that they emigrated for work, and Thomas died overseas? |

There is a tree on Ancestry which has a second marriage for William, and half siblings to Thomas ( 1855) , but it doesn't have anything further on Thomas or brother Ivor after 1871. |

Just a coincidence but I had family that moved from the ebbw vale area of Wales to the north east looking for work in 1880 and so I would not rule out the death posted by HeyJudeB4Beatles |
