I am having trouble tracing the death of my Great Grandmother Amy Turner.
Amy was born Amy Noble 09/04/1860 at 22 Lansdown Place. Amy married William Turner 05/05/1879.
The family are together in 1901 Census thus: (thanks to Vera)
1901 TURNER, William Head Married M 41 1860 Labourer Brick Seth Borough VIEW TURNER, Amy Wife Married F 40 1861 Borough VIEW TURNER, Jemima Daughter Single F 20 1881 Paper Sorter Borough VIEW TURNER, Thomas Son Single M 16 1885 Labourer Brick Seth Borough VIEW TURNER, William Son Single M 8 1893 Borough VIEW TURNER, Amy Daughter Single F 6 1895 Borough VIEW Piece: 364 Folio: 33 Page: 19 Registration District: St Saviour Southwark Civil Parish: St George the Martyr Southwark Municipal Borough: Address: 3, Hunter Buildings B Block, Little Hunter Street, St George The Martyr Southwark County: London
But I cannot find her death. Anyone help, please!
For some reason The Search system has changed and I do not get along with the new system so far.
Many thanks,
Sappho

Hi Susan,
Thank you - do you have anything else to add to this - can she be seen on 1911 Census. Where did you get this from? I have been searching and searching - just no luck. Well done you and thank you.
There is just one thing - I am not sure this is her until I send for certificate and they lived all their lives i n St. Olave, Southwark in the East End of London - there are many Amy Turner's as I found when getting her birth and marriage certificates.
As she was alive in 1911 (something I was unsure of) I wonder if she is on that census.
I do not have access to 1911.
Again many thanks Susan
Best wishes,
Sappho

Hi Susan,
Gosh you are good. No Amy Noble was the daughter of Sarah Noble, formerly Stevens and William Noble - John was his brother.
She did not have a middle name as I have her Birth and Marriage Certs. she was plain old Amy. Am,y is a family name and that certainly brings it's problems when researching. Jane Noble who was a cousin and older was the witness at Amy's wedding.
After an initial hiss and a roar on this family line of my mother's I found that a lot of the contacts just did not think there could be more than one Amy and so any information was coming to me was incorrect to a greater degree.
The names Turner and Noble seem to be quite common.
Thank you so much once again.

Just to go over a few things. Jane Noble had an elder sister Sarah Noble born 1845 who had a daughter in 1860/1861 and she called her Amy (Noble) later had siblings called Kennedy.
Hope this helps. The Nobles were a large family.

Cheers Susan - it does mean she was still Turner in 1911, but I'm not spotting her either. Wonder if she had already moved in with Mr Smith??

That may not be so easy - look at the differences in ages on that census, marriage and her actual dob, wonder if Mr smith actually knew how old she really was?

Could be, I've found her and George on the ERs still at 282 Tabard St (Long Lane) in 1919. Then in 1921 Amy is alone, still at same address in 1924 but no George.
