Sorry ladies, thankyou so much for your help so far, I am sure that the marriage in 1860 is correct and have the marriage cert, his father Richard William and hers David Lewis. However, I cannot continue with this at present as I have a few family things to sort out, so will have to leave this for the time being. When I am able, perhaps we can liase again. Thankyou for being so helpful and giving me so much of your time, it really is appreciated, but, I really cannot focus on this at the moment. Kind regards Jackie :-)

I am going to leave it until Jackie comes back with some more info as, if she is sure that marriage in 1860 is 'her' couple, then the ones followed before are incorrect.
See you later,
Dea x

You know that I don't like to criticise people on their spelling, punctuation or typo's etc. - it can appear very petty ! ;-) :-D :-D
Dea Xxx
P.S. - the ' i ' should, of course, be a capital ' I '.......... :-D :-D <3

OOhh Prickles - I see that you have corrected the bit at the bottom of your threads :-D:
"If i don't see you through the week............I will see you through the window."
There used to be a word missing from this and it has been irritating me for months and months now - I have just noticed that you have put it right ;-) :-D :-D

Hi Prickly Holly/Dea and safc, Thankyou for this info, it looks very interesting and could answer a lot of questions, I am sorry, not been on since Monday, so late in my reply. I know a great deal of mis spelling went on, but, I would never have thought of this one and it does look good. Sarah was born c1841 in Bermondsey and married Richard in march qtr of 1860 in Greenwich, that is all I had to start this thread. Thankyou again for all your time and help. Kind regards Jackie :-D

Of course, what we need to know before we go any further is how Jackie has worked her way back !
There are obviously two different Richard William's here - we have to find which one we should be following !!

SO - this is NOT the same Richard William (Excise Officer) who we have posted on page one of this thread.
That marriage in 1860 is not of the son of the family we started with !

Prickles - Have you noticed on that 1860 marriage cert Richard James seemes to have signed with the surname AYLES ??
He does write quite well but I suppose someone may have taught him to sign his name who couldn't spell?? but I wonder if was him who got it wrong or the vicar ?
I can't seem to trace him on a census.
