Find Ancestors

Where was Hannah Bent born ? Also still not sure who Samuel Wall mother was who married Sophia Orme, I know his father was also called Samuel Wall, but not sure who he married ? I think his father (Samuel Wall) was born abt 1799 in the London area.

Sophia Orme parents were: Henry Orme and Elizabeth Binns, I hope that's correct. Then Henry Orme parents were: Henry Orme and Hannah Bent or Bates ? Hannah Bent or Bates parents: John Bates (I think) and Alice ? Alice maiden surname unknown. What I would also like to know, it seems Henry Orme was born in London, but Elizabeth Binns was born up North, so how did they meet ? Was it something to do with Henry work, or perhaps Elizabeth Binns moved down to London with her parents ?

Hello GH, no I'm afraid I don't know any of that! That's why I suggested you go down the Mundia route.

Yes, you have to register and log in on there but it's totally free of charge.

I've no idea if the person who has that tree on Ancestry is also on GR.

Why don't you use the Search All Trees facility (under Search on the menu above) and see if anyone else is researching the same family?

GH - look again at the marriage I posted above for Samuel Wall and Sophia Orme, one of the witnesses was a Martha Wall. That couldn't be their daughter!

I can't vouch for the accuracy of that Ancestry tree I mentioned. If you're not a member of that site then you can join the sister site Mundia, you have to register but it's free.

On there, you can search and view public Ancestry trees and also contact tree owners. You could give that a try and ask the tree owner where they got their information from. They have no sources attached for the Henry Orme/Elizabeth Binns marriage, nor the Henry Orme/Hannah Bent (why would the name be something else, that is a proper surname?)

So, MC at this moment we are pretty sure Sophia Orme parents were: Henry Orme and Elizabeth Binns.

Martha Wall I've seen her mentioned in a connection with my family line... yes, she was one of the children of Samuel Wall and Sophia Orme, just remembered. Regarding the surname: Bent could it be Bates or Bennett ?

Not finding that marriage yet, perhaps the witness of Martha Wall might be a clue? (But it could be a sibling).

Samuel Wall father was also Samuel Wall who married ?

I wish they could have been a bit more original with their kids names, our Henrys could get very muddled!

So, Sophia Orme parents were: Henry Orme and Elizabeth Binns. Henry Orme parents were: Henry Orme and Hannah Bent, not sure if I like that surname lol

According to a tree on Ancestry, Henry Orme and Hannah Bent were the parents of the Henry Orme b1799 who married Elizabeth Binns and fathered Sophia.

The Daniel baptism is Sophia's uncle, not her sibling.

As they all seemed to marry young, it's quite feasible.
