Welcome back to the boards Gill - I was looking at Eleanor to try and place her in the hopes that an Albert Gee could be found in a similar area. Unfortunately I can't find her in 1911, could you tell us where she was then at all in case it helps? Trouble is 1920 is a long way ahead from then.

Stuart: It does looks like the same Albert.

I did wonder how an Albert Gee born in London would have ended up as a butcher in Lincolnshire, but it was worth a mention!

Is anyone else able to open the Mocavo link to see if it gives more info?

A lengthy article - in short, Albert was a witness to a man v car accident -

Albert Gee, manager for Mr. Richardson, butcher, Market Place, and living at 78, Sydney Street, Boston, said on Saturday, January 18th, he was in his employer's shop about 1 pm etc

PM from Gill
Hi Stuart

Unfortunately I have no idea as to his date of birth, I don't even know whether he was younger or older than Eleanor and this is what is making the search so difficult

Gill - Please post all your answers directly onto your thread so all helpers can see them

Do you know where Eleanor was in 1911?

Hi Everyone

Thank you all so much for all your hard work. Sorry I have been unable to reply earlier, but had technical problems - everything seems to be OK now. I think the most likely is Rawdon Albert Gee and it is his line I will continue to investigate. I don't believe he ever enlisted but so little was ever mentioned about him that 'who knows'. Thanks again

Sorry forgot to answer the query re where Eleanor was is 1911. I have also loked on the 1911 census but don't have any idea. I know that she was in service at some time prior to 1920 when my mother was born and I seem to recall that she was a cook there. I have no idea where or how she met my grandfather.

Hi Gill, just to clarify - the service pension records I posted are just named Albert Gee but there is no doubt that he is Rawdon Albert Gee. He was only in the army a matter of months and didn't seem to see any active service as he was discharged as unfit - perhaps it wasn't mentioned as it was such a short service?
