On the 1901 Census I have a Mary J Quinlan (b c1895) and a Jane quinlan (b c1880) living at Regent Road, Salford. I can find no trace of these two anywhere, ever since that time. there's nothing on the 1911 Census and I can't find any death record of them. |

Ah, Mary Josephine - that makes sense. we were told of a Josephine, so that must be her. she went on to marry a French-Canadian - apparently. |

You say Martin died in 1901. Do you have his death certificate please? Where did he die? |

Morning rootgatherer - no, I don't have his birth cert, just going on what we've been told by a living relative. Martin apparently died in 1901 and one of Sarah's children spent some time in the Salford Workhouse whilst Sarah was 'sorting herself out' with George laverack. |

Were Jane and Mary sisters? Mothers maiden name was Bovenizer which is unusual. |

So where was Jane in 1891 - she wasn't with Sarah Agnes - or have you found a birth for her? It states she was born Ireland, so I wonder which name she would have been registered under. |

The Bovenizer surname is of Palatine origin ...Found in the Co Limerick (mainly Rathkeale/Ardagh) areas where the Palatines settled as far back as early 1700s....also found in Dublin..... |

I've found a possible marriage for 'our' Mary Josephine Quinlan in the 1st quarter of 1924, spouse Francis A Vernon. Does anyone have any other access to information which may give an address for her at the time. |

This, from FMP, says Martin Francis Quinlan but it does say brother Austin!! Right place and year of birth. Buried in Goole where his mother was living. |
