So, if your ancestor is Maria Frith Oldham, and you have the marriage cert then you should be chasing the School master, not the hatter - they are 2 differerent people & families!!
So no mercury poisening in your line!

So Maria Frith was the daughter of the school teacher not the hatter who died in 1875. I suspect her father was the one who died in 1869.
