This looks like the Harriet in the 1861 above, but no sign of Emily. I suspect the birth below is her. Problem is, there are quite a few Emily Wrights - and yours doesn't appear to have a middle name!

It has never been a legal requirement to name your father when getting married.

It is/was quite common not to give your father's details if you either did not know them or simply chose not to do so because of family relationship breakdown.

Emily is 20 on that marriage record I posted and I think it says under her age 'with consent'

Maybe she didnt have 'consent'? Can someone else take a look at it please

Gins, can I just check something? You have referred to mother's possible death a few posts back, but actually have put a birth - have you missed death ref. off in error?

I'm not sure about this Harrington family, especially as the one we are looking for doesn't have a middle name on the marriage cert - what do others think? A family tree has them, and obviously they might be mistaken, but they have this Emily Jane here in 1871, when ours is already married. Her sister is Mary Georgiana Wright according to them, and I suspect they are correct:

I think Fred is a labourer on the marriage to Emily. John Wright (Who I thought might have been Emily' father) b 1802c is a doctor, I cant imagine a doctors daughter marrying a labourer?
