What is your thoughts on James NORRIS born around 1901/1902 at Stockport, Cheshire. It shows the place of birth as Peckham, which is next door to Greenwich and he is in a correctional school.
Still not found Alice.
Regards Rob.

Found son of James and Alice in Southport, Cheshire in the 1911 census - aged 9 as a half nine knitter (whatever that is). Feel confident that the 1929 death for Alice Norris is a red herring. The family seem to have a story that Alice Norris was involved in a manslaughter/murder, so perhaps the 1902 death might have value.

Old thread, mgnv.
I was highlighting the connection with a new thread

Just a couple of comments:
Catherine - an extra mid initial of S is the one letter that wouldn't have worried me. Using the names of this thread in place of the real names, my paternal gran was born as Alice Stanton, married as Alice Stanton, and died as Alice Stanton Norris. Similarly, my maternal grandad was born and married as James Thomas Norris, but died as James Thomas Stanton Norris.
Sylvia - I'm wondering if Husler is a misspelling of Hostler, possibly combined with a mistranscription - I can't see the original image.

Hi Catherine, Sorry for the delay in returning my reply, Catherine I do have Alice S Norris's death certificate, i know this is the right one because its stated the same address of which her husband had on his death. Her death was in1929 "Alice S Norris " of 79 Giffin Street. Many thanks Ann
|
if you are sure that Alice died in 1929, then could you say which of the above deaths is hers please.
Do you have her death certificate, what exactly does it say?
|
Hi Chris, Chris I see that you have Alice Norris in 1930 in the Electoral Reg I would be sure that would be the Daughter of Alice, who as you know was also called Alice. Again many thanks for helping me. Kind regards Ann.

Good morning all, Firstly please I must apologise for not being able to reply to you all sooner, and secondly may I thank you for you time in helping me. Ok then Alice Norris was born Alice Sarah Stanton (and yes I came across her down as Alice E Norris) and she did die in 1929. Daughters were ALice Sarah Norris born 1896 and Rosina Norris born (1899) Son James Thomas Norris was born just after the census was taken in . All the above information you all kindly found, I already knew, but for some reason Alice Norris and her son James Thomas Norris Seem very aloof in 1911!!! , And it has become somewhat of (a dog with a bone ) thing with me. Again many, many thanks to you all for your time and very kind help in assisting me with my so called (dog with a bone). Thank you all, Ann.

I still have a strong feeling that the 1902 death is her !
Why else would her children be in those places and her husband living away?
Are we absolutely certain that the 1918 death for James is the correct James?
I know he has a wife called Alice but there must be other James's married to an Alice???
Dea x

The tree on ancestry has Alice as having died in 1929 but these are the only deaths in 1929 for an Alice Norris:-
Deaths Mar 1929 (>99%) Norris Alice 84 Chorley 8e 920 Norris Alice 71 Reading 2c 728 Norris Alice 60 Wandsworth 1d 985 Norris Alice E 44 Lewisham 1d 2047 Norris Alice E 68 Southampton 2c 20 Norris Alice S 51 Greenwich 1d 1737 Deaths Jun 1929 (>99%) Norris Alice 72 Canterbury 2a 1215 Norris Alice D 59 Wandsworth 1d 474
Deaths Sep 1929 (>99%) Norris Alice E 18 Maidenhead 2c 405
...............the only one in Lewisham would be too young and the only one in Greenwich has a middle name S ?
.................................and Chris has her still in Deptford in 1930?
