Hello to all,
I am trying to search for any information on my Grandfather Stanley Gittings born 1903 Chorlton,Lancashire.I believe his fathers name is Fred and mother was Jane.I have come to a complete standstill with this and would love any help or info on this subject.I am doing this as my mother never met her father and would love to know anything about her paternal family as she is an only child and was never told anything about Stanley.I also have found out that Stanley married ADA RAWSON who was in Australia.Thankyou for reading and I can only hope someone maybe able to assist me with all of this!!

Thankyou so much MarieCeleste,that is wonderful to read when my Grandfather arrived in Australia.We only know that he met my Grandmother Mona Hughes in the late 1920s and my mother was born in 1929.We do not know what happened only that Stanley married Ada Rawson and must have moved back to England after his wife died.I have found Stanleys brother Fred married Lily Matkin in1928 and I am now searching to see if there were any children from that marriage.Thankyou for your help.

WOW,That means he left Australia when my mother was 3 and I am not sure when Stanley married Ada Rawson,all I know is she died March 1954 in Melbourne.Thankyou for the info about Frank.

I'm searching for Arthur Rawson(b 1854) married to Ann Oldham (b 1853)family background in England before migranted to Australia in 1880's with their daughter, Lily- Lillie(b 1877). Lily dies in Melbourne 1887. I'm from Geelong, Victoria, Australia, have Rawson family starting Arthur and Ann in Australia. Their son Sydney married to Grace Elizabeth Smout,and their 12 childrens, also their daughter, Ada which I haven't done research on Ada married to Stanley Gittings in Melbourne. Cheers

Now, If I read that right, Arthur and Ann Rawson emigrated to Australia in the 1880s.

They had a son Sydney after arriving in Sydney, and also a daughter Ada.

No dates given

Ada is said to have married Stanley Gittings.


BUT Ada would have been around 20 years older than Stanley!

This is weird
