What age are the people you are trying to verify and where were they born and do you know an occupation, it may be a question of looking at the following ie1871 census to find "a pair" |

also catherine that i am researching i have found her in census' 1871,81, 91 & 1901. she is mostly listed as married but there is never a husband there. she is a lodging house keeper. in one census she has william culler listed as a brother, but i cantt find a marriage for a catherine culler that matches. |

How did you get back to her if you don't know who she married? |

Lodging house keeper is rather a loose term, some of my ancestors have been "lodging house keepers" in the same era, mother and daughters with multiple children, with no father "at home". I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions! ;-) |

In 1871 she is in Darlington, no occupation, but daughter MAry Ann aged 6 shown as born Witton Park, so pretty sure same person. However her age here is 40 (same as the 1881!!) |

Doreen, I'm now trying to hide my shame of my dubious ancestry :-D So could you podt up the census records you've already found to save duplication of research please? |

ive ruled out catherine and john found in the 1871 census, 20 years too old. can anyone find details of bridget mcmahons marriage to patrick gillespie in durham march q 1892 vol 10 pge 455. bridget is catherines daughter. bridget , now gillespie also married james livesky in stockton in sept q 1901. vol 10a pge 156. any details added to either marriage may help. |

You might have found her, but I hadn't and was pointing out a 10 year age difference between the two census, which may or may not have helped me or others trying to help you. |

You will need to purchase the cert to find those details in most cases |
