Ahh! Thank you. that's more reassuring that we are looking at the correct family.

I couldn't see a death for Robert Hoggan but that will be in Scotland - so his death certificate will give the names of his parent's including his mother's maiden surname if the informant knew. We now know from Frederick Widspear's probate record that Robert had died before 1946.
