Do you have the marriage certificate for Emily and Edward to see who her father is? |

When did Emily die? |

As the child was registered as Millard, one has to assume that the father was named, and was present at the registration |

You really need to get the 1916 marriage cert.............so that you know how old she said she was.....and her father's details |

On that 1901 census for Fred & Emily the original is Millard not Mellard. Emily was born Devizes, Wiltshire. |

Thanx every1 for your help. The full info i have so far is that my mum was def born in B& named Rose Mmily Mable Millard. She never met her dad as he would not marry her mum. Her mum was Emily J Lampard who came to Pembrokshire & married Thomas Edward Pillips (we called him Ted) in 1916 and he died in 1957. My mum would have been about 15years old when they married and she too became phillips. She then married my dad Charles Durant Welch here in Llanelli in 1922. He had been adopted by his uncle charles Durant in Llanelli but he was born in Stockport to Alferd Welch & Margaret Ann Durant who died in childbirth. We believe from photos & they way my mum had been dressed as a child that they were not too bad off. We think that Emily had possibly been in service & who ever made her pregnant payed towards my mum Rose but would not marry her. Where Emily comes from or where she was born i have no clue. I have tried the census ect but I am still confussed here atmo so all your help is very much appreciated. It's silly buit these things were just not talked about in my childhood and now both my parent & brothers are dead I am now at a loss to find my past. I have a post card from a Mable addressed to her sister Emily & Ted & asks how my mum Rose is & the postcard is a photo of her son but she does not say his name so we mite have some descendants left that we do not know. I beleive that my grampa Alfred Welch might have got remarried so we might have some family there too. God this is confussing but interesting. thanx. |

Note in Margee's 1891 census EMMA, as per the 1901 Marriage entry, is born same yr and Location as EMILY as per 1901 census Reggie & I both posted, so she seems to have either used Emma and Emily interchangeably, or she got mistranscribed from time to time. |

Thanx again every1 as I am usless at this. It is possible she could have been emma by mistake. I have only half her marriage cert so dont know much details. she was def emily jayne on that. I know her sister Mable had a boy at some point as we have a photo of him on a lovely rocking horse, he was about 5 then. This would have been taken before my mum got married & still lived at home but after she was 15 as the name ted is on the postcard photo and he married Emily when my mum was 15. So i think mable maybe younger also they did not move to wales with Emily. :-S |
