Hello, thank you so much for this further information. I will have a scroll through in the meantime and wait and see what my colleague comes up with, if he can provide any dates or places etc. Have not long been in from work and once again I am not getting a message via my email that someone has posted a reply. |

Kathryn...The only way to look for him is to check through the 1901 Census for Townparks Ballinasloe Co Galway..you would need to put in only initials and bring up the actual image rather than the index.... |

Hi all, thank you once again for all your help. Hopefully my colleague can give some more leads very soon. Bridget was the daughter of John and the sister of William who I initially was enquiring about who apparently went off to Australia. Is there a list of inmates so to speak of the Asylum so I could start looking? |

Hi all, have spoken to my colleague today and I really hope we haven't been barking up the wrong tree with the Nolan family. He is going to try and get me some more dates etc but in the meantime he said that Bridget Nolan was definitely born on 17 February 1880. He said the parish is Elphin, I've not come across this name before but I believe it is still in Roscommon. I've had a look for her but cannot find her unless it comes under another name. He said she died in 1973, she never married. |

Sorry Eringobragh1916, I didn't look to see who'd sent me the last message and assumed it was Marie. Apoligies for that but thank you so much for your time and help in my quest. |

Hi Marie, this is getting really interesting now. Not sure if you saw my last message about sending off for William's birth cert. But in it I said I would send off and hopefully we can get somewhere once that comes back. At least we'll have date to work off if indeed the date of birth is correct as I have found in the past that sometimes the dates even on the certificates aren't correct. |

Hi Marie, thank you so much. Have now found the application form. Once I have the date of birth I will come back to this thread with William's date of birth. |

Hi Kathryn - if you follow that link I posted above about Irish research somewhere in there it explains about obtaining Irish certificates. |

Hi Marie, I put a notice on the Australian Board and the William you found the death for was sadly born in Queensland. I am in the process trying to find out where to send off for William's birth certificate and how much it will cost. I think in all the circumstances this would be the best way and then hopefully we will have an exact date of birth etc. I am so grateful to everyone for their time and help but probably once we have the birth certificate then we may be able to move forward and not be chasing a red herring so to speak. What do you think Marie? |

Hi again Marie, thank you so much once again. I will speak to him on Monday and see if he knows the birth and/or death dates of the other siblings. You have been so helpful, it would take me a month of Sundays and more to get where you have if at all. Am just about to check the two links you have given me. Oh, I've just added Australia to the heading. If it's not right please let me know ie if I should word it differently. |

Hello Marie, WOW, you have been busy on my behalf and I thank you so much for all the information provided. Personally I think the death you found is William as it seems too much of coincidence that his parents are John and Catherine, or am I just getting over excited. No on the Irish Census' it is stated that Catherine is a Farmer also two of the Williams on the passenger lists are to do with farming. My colleague will be so pleased with this find as am I. Am wondering if I should post something now on the Australia board on Ancestry to see if anyone can find him in the electoral roll although I suppose until perhaps we have an exact date of birth maybe it's not a good idea. What do you think Marie? Or where if anywhere can we go from here? |
