Not sure if the Council (or funeral director) would offer any information

You may be able to leave your contact details with the funeral director, if they are willing to pass them on to next of kin. Then it would be up to them if they wanted to get in touch. They appear to be based in Ballina (just Google).

P.S. I think perhaps Bert & Ettie divorced, which would explain why she died as Barnsley - I feel fairly certain this is she, as posted earlier:

About the WWII record, after you go to the search page and enter his name, you should get 3 'hits'. Click on the one that is his service record. It will come up as a full page with just that record listing. On the top right there will be a link 'Request copy'.

Follow the prompts here. This record has not yet been examined so there is a cost involved, unfortunately. It will be either $16.50 (online) or $25 (colour copy mailed out as well as online). I'd go the online one as you can print it yourself. May take a while though!

Herbert Albert Owers Papers for his service WW2 ( Australia)but I am unable to view the Records.

What a geart day for finding out my information.
I noticed that Charles Oswald Owers is living with Herbert so maybe that is his son.?1936 E/R

Anyone living with him on1937,1943,just interested to see if he had any children by Henrietta Barnsley.

How would I find out Herbert A Owers Army Info.
In England a trip to the local Librury and look on Ancestry.co.uk would be our answer!!
I will have to piece all the information together .

So Herbert AOwers came to Australia in 1927
married Henrietta Barnsley 1930 Sydney NSW
Served in the Australian Army/ Navy WW2

Then married again 1947 to Valda Hope Fraser Sydney NSW
