Have sent Paul a copy of Lilian's passport application (as posted by George).

Apart from it having a nice photo of her and her 3 children it also has an affadavit from someone confirming they have known Harry Jackson Pollard for 18 years and that he married Lilian Gertrude Docking on 28 November 1914.

Was looking to find Lillian and children going back out, in time for 1930 Census...

Can see the Baptism details for William Pollard 1853/4 Soham, and a snippet from a google search says he went to US 1889...

(as Paul is now finding out about Lillian's life in US, don't want to 'go back', but on an old posting of his there is mention of Selina Pollard/George Josiah Smith, Marriage 1846, so William Pollard Soham connection could perhaps be in the family, although from way back, but best to leave it there for the moment I think, lol)

My daughter has a heritage project due this Friday (4/11/97). She chose to do her project on her grandfather, Ken J. Pollard. His gradfather, William, emigrated from Soham in 1889.

You never cease to amaze me MC. Many thanks. Incidentally I discovered that Harry Pollard's father William died on one of his 'many' trips back to the Soham area. Got this from a tree match which also showed that their was a connection between Dockings and Pollards several generations before Harry and Lillian.
It does look like the Pollards made some money in the States.
