Roy it's probably not you! I did March 1905 to Dec 1911 so probably that accounts for quite a few that can be discounted.

When searching for children who where born and then died young between census's,

search all possible deaths first,

then only search for possible births for those deaths that will mean that if their are 13 deaths then you are only looking at a maximum of 13 births,

you can then reduce that number by slotting in all the childrens births to that marriage that are still living and working off the living births to calculating that a child born in the 1st Q is unlikely be a sibling to a child born in the 2nd or 3rd Q of that same year who died young simular for a child who born and died in the 2nd Q is unlikely to be related to a child who was born in the 3rd or 4th Q although be aware of births registered late,

Also although some women can get pregnant a short while after giving birth generaly most would take around 8 to 10 weeks and that period could be extended if breast feeding as most did in those days

Is it me? if they where married 5 years and the 1911 Census was taken on Sunday 2nd April 1911 i can only count 10 infant deaths in Paddington up to that time and 3 of those who died never had their births registered in Paddington so that leaves 7

but it's late and i will look in tomorrow

I'm wondering if there's anything on Ancestry in:
Westminster Marriage, Baptismal, and Burial Registers
I don't have a sub, but it might cut down some of those 23 births & 13 deaths.

All these Henry's and Sarah's are frying my brain!!!! :-/ Ha ha ha ha!!!

Thanks Jude, I shall look into that one!

Many thanks again everyone! :-)

MarieCeleste Report 27 Aug 2012 21:04

Oh, I see! Well, that explains how they were born at 62 Clarendon Street - which was Henry jnr's address at marriage.

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 27 Aug 2012 21:04

the female cook was born and died as well...so you could start with Henry Sarah Kate and Fem ale :-)

Sarah-Jayne

Sarah-Jayne Report 27 Aug 2012 21:01

The same for Rosina!

Thanks for looking anyway! ;-)

Can't see a death before 1911 for him MC...

Sarah-Jayne

Sarah-Jayne Report 27 Aug 2012 21:01

MC - That baptism record IS correct and in my family history, but not for the Henry & Sarah I mentioned previously.

Ernest in the above record is in fact the younger brother of Henry! Just to confuse things! Ha ha ha ha!

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 27 Aug 2012 20:59

The three baptisms I've found seem to fit the parent's names, Henry's occupation and their address in 1911.

BUT - they are before any 1905 marriage, plus Sarah would have been very young (put not impossibly so).

I don't honestly know. I have narrowed my "missing three" to three and have stumped up the cash for three birth certificates in the hope they all come back with the correct parents.....

You could try eliminating by checking on 1911 census..balls-aching but would narrow it down

Phew!

HOW MUCH???? :-O

Hmmm, there must be an easier and cheaper way, surely?

Do you know if it's possible to go to the Town Hall where the records are kept and look at them before ordering a copy?

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 27 Aug 2012 20:43

Yes.. posts crossed :-)

13 deaths = £120.25 OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I thought £18.75 was chancing it ha ha!

Sarah-Jayne

Sarah-Jayne Report 27 Aug 2012 20:16

That's the record for Emma, yes. (I'm sure I posted it a few posts back....?)

Emma didn't die until 1988!

I know what you mean about the young deaths, etc.... and with Cook being such a common name as well.....

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 27 Aug 2012 20:13

There are 23 births and 13 deaths that might fit :-(

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 27 Aug 2012 20:10

OK so if she was born 1906, this is her

Births Jun 1906 (>99%)
Cook Emma Elizabeth Paddington 1a 17

So she would still (just) be on April 2nd 1911.

There are a lot of young deaths (and therefore births) between 1901 and 1911 in Paddington
