Gins, if Annie Louise is with her grandparents in 1891
William & Mary Ann Donton
how can Thomas & Amelia Boorer be her grandparents?
|
Well........the 'Donton' grandparents (of Annie) could be the fathers parents
Other wise, if Emily was a Boor* and her parents were 'Donton', it would mean she was married to Annies dad, which the poster has said, Emily was not married
......I presume he has the birth cert for Annie?
Edit: Its all speculation at the moment and Annies 'Grandparents' may not have been her grandparents at all?

John
Have you got Annies marriage certificate to check if the father is listed. Also the witnesses might give us a clue
If it were my family, getting the marriage certificate would be my next move
|
Gins, As you say, all speculation at the moment.
My thinking was that Emily Boorer was an unmarried mother and that she was the daughter of Mary Ann Donton/Denton. (Think that the 1891 census has the family mistranscribed as Donton).
Mary Ann being married previously to William Boorer (married as Mary Ann Roffey) (note Astra's post of 1871 with Arther Roffey being a visitor in the household of the Borer family) This posting has an Emely Borer born c1867.
No birth reg for an Emily/Emely Boorer/Bowra/Borer in the Sevenoaks district.
Can't see any other sign of an Emily Boorer c1867 Hever after the 1871 census.
According to the 1881 census Mary Ann Denton was born in Hever Kent as were the Denton children.
In the 1881 census that I posted there were children: James Denton c 1869 Kate Denton c1868 Harriet Denton c1872
In the posting of the 1871 census for the Borer family there were children:
James c1870 Cate c1868
I think these are James & Kate Denton in the 1881 census, taking their step-fathers name.
Second husband of Mary Ann being William Denton, marriage in 1877(Mary Ann being married as Bowra, mistranscription of the name Boorer).
