You will need to give details,

what you already know is the best place to start

names, dates, places,

Don't give personal details of living people

Where in the country Daniel?

There are 5460 births from 1900 to approx 1950, to find the ones that might be related you will have to provide some info...as it's your name start there and work back on your father's side...who was his father, his siblings etc. You may need to buy marriage or birth certs.

But first of all find your parents marriage/ father's birth on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

Daniel has already been told - by me - to post what he has - full names, relevant dates and locations

Rambling Report 3 Aug 2012 20:53

It being the school holidays it sometimes happens that younger people come on the site and may not have tackled the basics of family tree research so step by step guide is useful.

Daniel if you look at the home page there is a 'Where do I begin" section, might be worth you having a look at that :-D

Daniel, it is late and maybe my brain isn't at 100% but I haven't a clue what you are asking about. And your use of :-P hardly engenders a desire to help (especially this late at night)!

GB am I getting a grumpy old git do you think? ;-)

Rambling

Rambling Report 3 Aug 2012 21:48

What decade are we talking Daniel? and where?

Remember that births do not necessarily show the middle initial,
it could be this one for example

Births Sep 1901 (>99%)

Broad Alfred Malling 2a 765

his death shows him as Alfred Edward

so we do need some rough dates and locations to work on.

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 3 Aug 2012 21:49

This is the only other birth I can see for that name:-

Name: BROAD, Alfred Edward
Registration district: Pancras
County: London
Year of registration: 1880
Quarter of registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Mother's maiden name: Not available before 1911 Q3
Volume no: 1B
Page no: 18

If you don't think the one already posted is the one you are looking for can you tell us why not? Do you have more information about him?

There was an Alfred E Broad married a Doris E Vine in Sevenoaks (Kent) in 1937, does this sound a likely match ?

Rambling

Rambling Report 3 Aug 2012 21:50

Maybe, as you mention Vine as surname?

I am going on the principle that we are looking at Kent, given your place of birth Daniel.

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 3 Aug 2012 21:54

daniel, you need to answer the questions asked in a clear way

March Alfred Edward broad I'm afraid does not help anyone

I take it March is the month? and not a name, But March happens every year and has done since god was a lad

If you want help then try to answer the question asked
