Shirley, I'm so disappointed, I've worked long and hard on this thread and now you're starting new threads on the same family where everything is being duplicated. I quit! |

Shirley, I can't understand why you started a new thread about the same family while we were still working on this one? |

Same Thomas Clegg in 1901, he's a pavior now married to Jane who evidently was previously married to a Walker. The children are listed as in-law, another name for stepchildren. They're all single. |

Can anyone spot richard watson on the 1871 census in burnley then? he is married to a jane nee whitaker/whittaker who he married in 1858/59. Think they will be living in the burnley wood area of town. Jane died in 1878 so he must have met or already knew alice as he marrie d her in 1878. That sometimes happened if the dad had young children to take care of. So wondering now if richard and jane had children together which would maybe be shown on the 1871 . :-) |

Thanks margee, will check these today . Just a thought, could you tell me what address alice astin/yates is living at in 1871. And where it says she was born? Burnley or briercliffe? |

This looks like Robert in 1851. Recognize any names? The 83 year old Robert is the father of John, head. They're both widowers. Martha Ridehough is a sister-in-law of John, She's single. |
