Colin, may I suggest that you go back to the Poor Relief records and look at any for Maxwell born in Ireland? The records as you know are indexed and are free so all it costs is your time. You may be lucky and find that some of his siblings also claimed poor relief and gave more details of the area in Ireland that the family came from originally. There is too a possiblitity that his wife or children may also have at sometime claimed poor relief and stated where in Ireland William came from. |

Morning rootgatherer...Those could possibly be the ones I mentioned to Colin....(page 1)..I would be trying to follow them through also....especially Francis who was of the same employment as William... How many Trunk Makers could there be in Glasgow at that time..? |

Theres only 1 other baptism with a father Francis & a mother Martha and it is for a Margaret Maxwell Co armagh 1810. But you have to pay to view the full record |
