Ok, so i've ordered a marriage certificate, because lets be fair, knowing my family they will take ages to get back to me about any info I want.
Again, a big THANKS to everyone who has made suggestions above. I wouldn't have even thought to order a marriage certificate. As has been said, family info can be unintentionally misleading. It certainly has been a little so far, with my having gone to Dublin to research more on the information that she was born in Ireland!!! Grrrr, ha ha. I could have drunk more Guinness whilst there, ha ha!!

To MarieCeleste, It was my great grandfather who married Catherine, and he was called Walter Halliday.
To Gins, I did see it, thanks, have ordered a marriage certificate, as it should tell me more info. As for who has rrd'd you, not sure!!

Robert - the information that Gins posted IS the marriage record that you'll get on the certificate, only difference being that it will be inserted onto a green certificate.
