Thanks for not posting details of my living relatives. Mo, I think you are right about Alice marrying Daniel Kerr, and also maybe the Wellington idea, although I can't understand why the other marriage record gave the maiden name Morris? (Sorry I'm being a bit cryptic now because I don't want to mention living relatives.)

If that death that Mo posted is correct (and it looks like it) then this looks like a last address for Alice

A look up of hubby's Surname in California on http://www.whitepages.com/ gets a possible bro-in-law for Pauline. (NB Berkeley is in Alameda Co).

What I would do is wait until the 1940 census for California is indexed and the images are linked up. It's already fully transcribed at https://familysearch.org/1940census/
This might go to confirming he's William's bro. My guess is it'll be done this week.

Then give the guy a call - there's 8 h difference from the UK (so 8pm UK=noon Pacific).

First of all Gins, I'm sorry that this is a separate post to the other thread, but I intended it to be a separate topic without any duplication of looking up stuff, so apologies for inconvenience caused, the previous thread to find my half sister was successful ( see success stories). This thread was just about the 'Wellington' name on the marriage register, and whether it related to my sister's mother. I feel quite bad now about being nosy about my new found family.
mgnv, thanks for extra info re Alice's birthday to support marriage and death records, I think that this must all be correct. I'm a bit confused about the ref. to William's brother though, and what this has to do with Wellington. Sorry if I'm being a bit dense!

I 'think' MGNV is talking about Allyn as being a possible sibling for Daniel? Im thinking that this is the 'Daniel' that married/lived with Alice

Sorry to dig up an old thread.

I may be able to shed some light on Alice and Wyndham as they were my Grandparents. Alice was born Green in Bostock St Warrington and my Grandad was Wyndham GGE Morris who was in the lancs regiment at Peninsula Barracks Warrington. I have photos somewhere. When I find them, will post if any response.
