This looks like Hester/Esther Wilshire in 1841, before her marriage to Charles Stinchcombe. Note that in the 1851 census I posted on page 1 of this thread, Charles and Esther , and children William and Sarah were also living in Clay Hill, St George, Clifton [Bristol]. Apparent father here is James, which tallies with the 1848 marriage..
1841:
1841 England, Wales & Scotland Census
Clay Hill, St George, Clifton, Gloucestershire, England James Wilshire Male 39 1802 Gloucestershire, England Mason<<< Sarah Wilshire Female 38 1803 Gloucestershire, England Hester Wilshire Female 14 1827 Gloucestershire, England<<<<<< Will Wilshire Male 12 1829 Gloucestershire, England John Wilshire Male 8 1833 Gloucestershire, England Thomas Wilshire Male 6 1835 Gloucestershire, England Saml Wilshire Male 2 1839 Gloucestershire, England
Same family in 1851, as Wiltshire, for birthplaces:
1851 England, Wales & Scotland Census
Fishponds Road, Stapleton, Clifton, Gloucestershire, England
James Wiltshire Head Married Male 50 1801 Stone Mason Stapleton, Gloucestershire, England Sarah Wiltshire Wife Married Female 50 1801 - St George's, Gloucestershire, England William Wiltshire Son Married Male 22 1829 Stone Mason Stapleton, Gloucestershire, England Mary Ann Wiltshire Daughter-In-Law Married Female 20 1831 Washerwoman Stapleton, Gloucestershire, England Samuel Wiltshire Son Unmarried Male 11 1840 Morton Boy St George's, Gloucestershire, England James Wiltshire Son Unmarried Male 9 1842 Morton Boy St George's, Gloucestershire, England
EDIT: On the 1841 census image, James Wilshire and his family are on the right hand page, on the left hand page in Clay Bottom can be found Job and Sarah Stinchcombe and several of their children, including Charles, so Hester/Esther. was vitually the 'girl next door' for Charles in 1841.

There is however, this more likely candidate for William Henry?
Name: William Henry Stinchcombe Registration Year: 1852 Registration Quarter: Apr-May-Jun Registration district: Thornbury Inferred County: Gloucestershire Volume: 6a Page: 151
so I may have been barking up the wrong family tree up till now.
However I note that in the 1891 census, the William in Wales has children named Charles and Easter/Ester, so could they be named for his parents, if he was the William Henry baptised in 1849?

Thanks for your quick replies and information which looks very encouraging.
Charles and Fanny Sweeting are very distant relatives so at this stage feel unable to obtain a certificate, but one day when I have some spare cash ;-)
