I am searching my great grandfathers family and I have hit a brick wall I was wondering if anyone can help me.
My great grandfathers name is Joseph Henry Victor Wood born Nov 1895 Islington and he married a Violet walker in 1919 Hackney london, I am trying to search his fathers family he's name is Joseph Henry Wood not sure on year of birth I have found a death which is 1895 Islington, Joseph Henry married a Elizabeth Martin born 1866 in st pancras the marriage was in 1894 Holborn, London. Was hoping to find Joseph Henry Wood's mother and father and any siblings her may of had.

ok thank you for help though I will try and give you what I have but it is not alot. I did find that there were so many Joseph Henry's thats why I got a little confused and as I am not that experience i got lost

Just looking at the marriage cert for Joseph Henry Wood and Elizabeth Martin again and both have signed their names but for Joseph it looks as if he has signed it Joseph Henry Denny and the surname Denny has had a line put through it with the name 'Wood' written above; the initials J.H.W are to the left of this alteration.....not sure if this is significant or not but it does seem to be a bit strange!

Note this William is a Cab Driver and they are living 20 Bryan St Islington the same Street that Joseph Henry was living in when he got married to Elizabeth Martin.

I am not 100% that Elizabeth Martin is Joseph Henry Wood's wife the mother of my GGF Joseph henry victor Wood as when I search a birth for Joseph HV Wood I can not see a mothers maiden name but when you search the 1901 and 1911 census they are the same family but Joseph HV Wood went under the name Harwood which is Elizabeth second husband's surname

Dont know if that any help.
