Hi, This is to everyone who has helped me to try and find out more about my uncle Jimmy ( James ) Maughan who went to Australia. It looks as if I have done things wrong and its by mistake as I have been with Genes for afew years but only posted 4 times about different people in my family so was'nt quite sure what to do, I am really sorry if I have caused any upset as I didn't mean to I am not that kind of person, I am really just learning. So everyone please accept my appologies. As to my Uncle James I have asked an older cousin of mine if he could tell me anymore but he just remembers James marring a widow in England in his later years and then going to Australia to join his wifes people out there, and he thinks he was a sheep shearer. I am going to see if I can findout more in the next few days from older members of my family. If I find more I will post it on the boards. ( hope I have that correct if not please advise me ). Kind regards Jane.

All I can say is a big thankyou to all for the help I have received, I am new at doing this so hopefully doing it correct now. I have just been told by an older cousin that James Maughan went out to Austrralia with his wife who was a widow from we think Bradford then moved to Australia to join his wife's family out there, the only thing is at the moment I cannot find out his wife's Maiden name so hence cannot move on with that family. I am trying to get more information from older members of my family but the people who could have helped me the most are sadly no longer here which is my mam and dad, so will keep trying. Hopefully I will use the boards again for information on other family members and I do hope I am now doing this correctly, if not please feel free to explain what I should do. Kind regards Jane.

Hi just had a look and cannot get over the response from everyone who is helping me and the information looks really good. My mam Frances Maughan died the 11th December 1974, and I know James Maughan even though he married later in his life and it was his first marriage to a widow he had already gone to Australia as my mam did keep in touch with him, then after mam died like lots of other things contact was lost, its only very recently James has been mentioned which made me wonder what had happened to him, awful really how family you new when you were younger and because people move away from where you were born, and all of our family lived very close in them days, years go over and you realise you know longer know where people have moved to. I will check all the information that has come to me, really chuffed with it. Thanks again. Jane.

Hiyas, I don't mean to offend anyone especially Jane,,,,but Jane and I have been PMing about this search since all the fuffle...I didn't post the PM's as I haven't been coming into the boards...(just clicking on PM's from my emails) Now there are too many PM's to post... I guess I should have as I notice a few posts have info that I had already sent..
Anyway, There doesn't seem to be any newspaper notices of the deaths in Australia (none online as yet anyway) and they didn't appear to have had any children.
Jane did say that James and Letitia came to Australia to be with Letitias family in Australia. So that was the next move....to find who the family were..

Kellie
How are we to know what has or has not been sent by pm???
I've said to you elsewhere on another thread, that it is accepted that information for dead people is posted on the open threads. That way other helpers may join the search and cooperate together.
Information for living people should be sent by pm.
BUT a note should be added to the thread whenever any information is sent by pm, to stop other people wasting time doing the same search.
The note can say simply "Have sen information on possible marriage by pm." or "Have sent information on possible children of wife".
That is sufficient to stop others wasting time.

Hi everyone who has helped me in anyway and very sorry I got it wrong at first as Kellie did help me but I did'nt answer correctly through the right procceedure, hopefully I now have the hang of what I have to do. I have sent a message to a person who has one of the younger male Reynolds on there tree and enquired if they also have James on there, but have not received any reply as of yet. It was an older cousin who said James had gone out to Australia to join his wife's family but my mam never mentioned this to me so its the first I new of it. Thanks Jane.
