That's excellent, Christina, thank you. Would you say this was likely to be a hotel / lodging house? William taking in lodgers to help pay for help with the kids as his wife is no longer with him? I suppose it could be a well-to-do house with servants. Is there any way to tell? |

And that death record ties up another loose end, thank you again Christina. It confirms the middle name as Elizabeth, my mother referred once to an Aunt Lizzie and another time to an Aunt Annie but told the same storey for each, suggesting they might be the same person. She was buried at St Andrews Church, White Sheet Hill, Beaminster I believe - is there any way to check where the Annie in the death record you found is buried? |

Looking at the images(there are two of them), Martha and Annie have filled in their own form (signed by Annie E Stacey) ....and state relation to head as Visitor. Theirs are the only names on this form. |

Thank you for checking the images, Christina, there's wealth of detail there, isn't there! I'll try looking on google street view to look at the houses - although without a number it may be difficult (if the house stil exists of corse). |

Just going back to your comment about there being another JHS - one thing to consider is that he could have been christened when he was older?????? |

Yes, Lynski, that would be possible, and that would give me his mother's name. To gain confidence in this interpretation I'd like to find JHS's marriage record. |
