I would like help to find detail of Ann Stacey, born about 1866, I believe in Beaminster or thereabouts but could also be Sheffield Eccleshall Bierlow. |

Thank you Lynski, I didn't have records of their christenings / baptisms, only their births, so that's very helpful. |

Thanks Julie. John the father died young. I believe (my interpretation of the evidence so far) that he married in Dorset, went to Sheffield - presumably for a job, died, and his wife and kids moved back to Beaminster to live with Martha's parents. |

Thanks Shirley, that 1891 census says Annie was born in Sheffield like her brothers, and the 1901 says JHS was a travelling clerk - which he certainly seems to be! |

I've been browsing the marriage records on GR and I've found an Elizabeth Ann V Stacey married in Ecclesall Bierlow - which was where Martha and JHS lived. Can someone please find out more about this marriage and whether it could be the same Ann? |

Thanks Christine, that confirms Ann(ie) and weakens my theory about Elizabeth Ann. |

She's still single in 1911, so probably never married. Here she is with her mother.... |
