Hello, No he isn't the son of John & Elizabeth i have a copy of his birth certificate.
The James I'm trying to get info for, according to his death certificate was born on the 10th of December 1857 Liverpool Eng.
Mother's name was Ellen [nee Molyneux] Livingstone
I have info on him from abt.1882 til his death. What I need is the info on him prior to 1882

What's his father's name then?

So born before parents' marriage?

From what I've learned so far is that his father name is possibly James as well.
As in research I found an Ellen Molyneux married to a James Livingstone. but could not find if they had any children

But you said you had a copy of his birth certificate? What's the father's name on it?

Can't have the birth certificate or you wouldn't have said

The James in the union workhouse is also not the James of whom I'm looking for. as he is is still there in 1891 and the James I need left England for Canada around 1882..
There is also a James Livingstone a bookkeeper at the workhouse, I have a copy of this James death certificate.

Did your James marry in Canada then? If so do you have marriage certificate with father's name?

So it looks like you need the birth cert for James Molyneux ( March 1858 posted above)
He was born before Ellen married James so would have been registered in his mother's maiden name.

Presumably he then took the name of Livingstone ( he may not even have known he was born Molyneux)

Thanks for the clarification, Gary. I had understood that you had the birth certificate for your James but it was the other one you had.

What about the fact that you're sure your James was born 1857 and mother's name was Ellen Molyneux but she married a James Livingstone in 1858. Could James have been born a Molyneux?

Just so that we know where we are ...
