Find Ancestors

I'm trying to verify the family of Herbert Buckley born c1883 in Halifax. His wife was Mary Jones from Wales born 1884 (they married in Halifax in 1904). If my research is correct the census would show Herbert and Mary and their children Mabel Buckley born 1907, Gladys Jones Buckley born 1909 and possibly Marion Buckley born 1905 (but she could have been born as late as 1923 for some reason in Huddersfield - I can find no Halifax birth for her )

I'd like to know If I've attached the children to the right parents.

Frank - do you believe Marian Buckley to be their daughter? Where did you get the info? How do you have such a wide timescale for her birth?

Thank you both for that very speedy reply, I think I've got it right there. Can anyone tell me whether Amy is likely to be another version of the name Marion ( I can't see it myself !) If not, Amy is a child I wasn't aware of. Thanks

Thank you all for your help, I have recieved information from the daughter in law of Gladys and have been told who her brothers and sisters were, and who her sisters married. Amy was not mentioned but Marion was.
I worked back using Free BMDto try and find Marion Buckley and could only find references for a birth in Huddersfield in 1905 and 1923. I know Marion married Jack Thompson in Halifax in 1941 but if born in 1905 she would have been 36 on her wedding day. The Marion born in 1923 would have been 18.

Yes Herberts Father was Edwin Buckley and his wife was Mary Harrison

I got Mary Jones by looking at someone elses tree, so it looks like they got it wrong ! I'm confident about Edwin and his wife, they are my great grandparents, Rufus is my Grandfather.

Regarding the Marian born in Oldham I'm going to have to ask for more details to try and clear this up. I have no further info at the moment to tell me if thiat could be her , but the mothers maiden name is correct.

Frank - Herbert's wife IS shown as Mary on the 1911. Perhaps (like myself) she was known by more than one name?

As you are most probably aware, Frank, there are quite a number of Herbert Buckleys whose families were in Halifax and Oldham. What we need to know is what you know to be correct so that we can work back from that.

There was another child, a son called Harold born in 1914 died in 1993, I have his details and I know who he married.
