You people are truly amazing! Horace Reginald WHILE (sometimes called himself 'Percy') was indeed a son of Cornelia Jane nee ASTON, - and a nephew of Cornelia's brothers: George Rix and Edwin John ASTON. I had no idea that Cornelia's brothers had emigrated to Canada, or that Horace and his family had joined them later. The finding of Horace's actual location in 1911 has been another bonus for me! |

Thanks for that! But how did you discover that Ida Evelyn Nielsen had 4 children - so quickly? It usually takes me weeks to make such discoveries! (But then I am still rather new to this game!) |

Yes, the evidence appears to be strongly in favour of Emily Ann nee CAPPER being Victor's mother. When I started this thread I was uncertain as to when Emily died, and whether Horace had re-married in Canada. |

I believe the reason for difficulties in tracing the life of 'Horace WHILE junior' after his return to England is that young Horace may in fact be the 'H' in 'William H. WHILE', born Aston in 1906 (Aston, A-J 1906, 6d, 435). This William married Isabella COWAN around 1927 (Liverpool, J-M 1927, 8B,105), and died in Prescott, Lancashire in 1966 aged 59 (Prescott, J-M 1966, 10F, 343). I am still trying to confirm this theory via family connections! |

Sounds feasible - from the 1911 census, we know "Harris" was born in England May 1906. 1901 has the exact dob - from experience, the day and month are OK, but the year is not entirely trustworthy. |

Thanks for that, mgnv! If the family can't sort this out I'll have to buy a birth certificate. |
