Looking for the marriage of John S Parkes a Wesleyan Minister born St Kitts West Indies c 1837 parents John & Sarah to Priscilla Ashwell born c 1838 Eaton Bray Beds.
1861 census Priscilla is living with brother Lewis in Thundridge Essex. 1871 census she is married to John and living in Madeley Shropshire with 6 children.First 2 children Mary c 1864 and Margaret c1865 born in Canton China.
Can find no census for John until 1871.
Nothing as far as I can see on free BMD or familysearch.

As a Wesleyan minister this was a non conformist church . Would think they married in the Wesleyan church!! which would have the record but not part of the GRO indexes. Ie their marriage wouldn't have been recognised by the C of E

February 15th 1865.

1851 Johns parents John and Sarah nee Sowter. John was a Wesleyan Minister.Sarah jnr was born 1844 in Tortola, West Indies and James 1848 was born in Montsenat, West Indies. I think that John snr entered the church in 1831 and died in 1876. and that John S started in 1858 and died in 1889. Found this info on the net
