Tried a different tack. According to the marriage cert Daisy Rumble lived at 35 The Hale Tottenham when she was married (18 Sep 1909). So tried to search the 1911 census for this address...................... zero, zilch, nada, nothing :-( |

Chris - Thank you very much. Unfortunately, the answer did not help my quest! I was hoping to still find a RUMBLE there :-( |

Anyone got any thoughts on Daisy's place of birth be changed on 1911 original census? |

It looks like the same writing on the added piece of paper on the 1911 census, so perhaps they thought it was neater to do it that way than cross it out if they had made a genuine mistake in spelling? |

Mary - I wondered about the change but I would assume that it would not be changed to something that was incorrect. |

By the 1911 census living at 4 The Broadway (Gus's address on the marriage cert) was his widowed mother, 2 of his brothers and a brother's wife. Not a great deal of help, but something at least. Pity Daisy's relatives did not stay at The Hale!!!! I guess I will try to find out if the people living at 35 The Hale had anything to do with Daisy!!?? :-| |

Been searching through the 1911 census with no progress. However, I do know there is a 35 Hale Gardens but tried to find that on Ancestry and Find My Past to see who was living there - long shot, but about all I have left - found there is a Mr Bendall with 2 females on the summary but no details! As usual I can find it on 1911census.co.uk but spent all my credits searching the other ones. ......... Can anyone else shed any light on who was living at 35 Hale gardens in 1911?? |

Patchem - Thank you very much for that. Pity it appears to shed no light on my quest. I think I am well and truly stuck now! |

Patchem - Thank you again. I could not find 170 either but the address on Daisy's daughter's birth cert is clearly 170! I wonder where they were? |

Mary - Thank you very much for that. A fine piece of detective work. I only wish it gave me a better clue about the mysterious Daisy! |
