George Whittle (b 1856 Shevington Lancashire) married Matilda Comber (b 1862 Pemberton Lancashire) 1884 in Standish Lancashire. In 1884 they went to USA but I can't find them coming back to England. In 1886 they went to Australia where 2 of their children were born and returned to England 1893. Emigrated to NZ 1901. I would like to know when they returned to England from USA. |

This may be a silly question but how do you know that they came back to the UK from the USA between 1884~1886. Could they not have gone on to Australia from the USA? |

The family that Jonesey mentions can't be the same family as here is George in 1881:- |

This would appear to be the Matilda that Vivienne is following. Interesting in so far that she has sisters Annie and Emily. |

Annie, in Jonesey's family was born in 1877, so possible marriage for this couple? |

Catherine that is the right family he married in 1884. |

Jonesey that is Matilda's family and her sisters, she obviously named her children after them. |

They arrived in Southampton on 5 Jul 1893 on the ship 'Aller'. |

If 1871 Matilda is the correct one, then she was born in 1863. A bit young to be having a child in 1877 (14yrs old) ? |

Presumably this is the family departing for New Zealand. Once again some of the children's ages are mis-recorded. |

Thats the right deaths. Annie married Willilam Price, my husband's grandmother. I am mainly trying to find where Annie was born as apparently it wasn't in Lancashire as we thought. I have bought 3 wrong birth certificates for her and asked the Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust |

Mary married Francis Price William's brother 1919 NZ and Peter married a sister Edith Maud Price so kept it all in the family. |

Thanks for your help everyone. I am in Australia so different time zone. I have 2 birth certificates 1 for 1885 mother Martha Abbott father William and 2nd one 1886 mother Ellen Jackson father Dennis. Don't want to keep buying wrong certificates that is why I asked for help from the Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust |
