How strange/stupid that this has been reported! I'm a Newport girl so i actually have a little bit of an aversion to the capital of Wales (note I am trying not to be antagonistic)....but Splott ..."Splow" if you're pretentious really is an area of Cardiff. As Ann says it's an on the up place! Anyway...I loved the "Green Gables" tag and am old enough to know who AOGG was...but I have to admit that I didn't know the author(ess) - one for my memory banks methinks!

Ta! You see I was born in ...oooh late fifties (ha ha) and I was always Jude...and then those Beatles came out with Hey Jude in 1968 when I was 11 (oops that tells you how old I am)...so I am claiming precedence (though I can't beat Thomas Hardy) :-)

I'd say it was a bit like telling two groups of friends in two seperate places that you visit, that you've changed your name. It would be pointless telling the ones on here if you didn't tell the ones on Gen and vice versa :-|

How very small-minded of the person who RR'd this because it was on more than one board! I, for one, would never have known that Ann had changed her board name if it had only been posted on the General Board. It's a board I never go to. I think it would have been OK to post it on all boards. It's not as if she were asking for a look-up and there was a chance of duplicating results.
I hope GR is keeping track of the people who are RR'ing.

Well said Margee...this was a publically minded information post! I never go on any other board (than Find Ancestors)..except for when I was new and green to the boards and stuck stuff on genealogy chat :-(...you'd think both the "reporter" and GR had better fish to fry

Whoever decided to RR this thread should, at least, have the courage to say who they are and what their point is!
