The answer is on your other thread:
https://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1391037
Fitzgerald was also her maiden name.
And in fact, the answer is on this thread too - see Liam's post on 19 Nov 2011 at 01:22

Aha!
So my FAF was her parents' YOUNGEST daughter. Very helpful.
I knew that they'd married in India - I found the record at the British Library some years ago now.
... Bayley, Esq., Madras Army, tnird son of Colonel Bayley, 20th N.I„ Frances Adelaide, youngest daughter of the late William Barry Fitzgerald, of Dublin, Esq. On Tuesday, the 12th May, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Port Elizabeth, Algoa Bay, Cape of ...
Can anyone perhaps see the death record for WBF's wife? It may lead to her maiden name ...........

I have received this kind and helpful answer to my email searching for a grave and/or headstone and a possible MI which could give some clues:-
procath Sat 06/02/2021 13:41 Dear Nicola
We do not have a graveyard here at St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral.
We do have a Crypt and I have checked the register and cannot find a William Barry Fitzgerald having been interred in the vaults.
I had a look at Irish Genealogy and the COI after Dublin could stand for Church of Ireland
If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.
Kind regards
Mary Irwin
Administrative Secretary
Where would I look for her suggestion of COI records, please?
Thank you.

Have managed to get into GR again this evening, but I am VERY overworked and cannot see a slot to get back to this rather convoluted thread until the weekend.
Please forgive and don't think me rude if you all are active on my behalf!! :-) <3

Erin, I think you could be right, in that we may be missing a birth for a WBF in around the C1820/30s
possible connections, Deaths, Robert Barry Fitzgerald Burial Place Calcutta , 26th Nov 1838 aged 43. birth 1795 Occ- Atty at Law
William Wildridge Burial 19 Dec 1836 aged 59, Dame St, Dublin

Liam...I am beginning to wonder the same thing....
" My great great grandfather was a QC Dublin..WBF died 1845... He was father of Flo.Ad.Fitzgerald who married Henry GD Bayley (India )...who were my great great grandparents"
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/ancestors/thread/1286940 Nicola is looking for info.re great great grandparents 1890ish....
Nicola....Can you show a brief "tree" to clarify which generation WBFitzgerald (Died 1845) belongs to.....We may have lost one along the way....
I have checked the Thoms diectory and find neither a William Wildridge (at the time in question the name may have been listed as Wilroge) or a WBF in Dublin "City"...I have also checked out the Dublin "City" Voters Reg 1820 and neither are listed...

Nicola.... You have identified that WBF was a QC...If you check back through the thread you will see Liam gave you WBF's marriage....
If you have access to "The Times"...check out obits.for the time of WBFs Death..
as I said earlier there are mant Fitzgerald Burials in Mount Jerome Cem. also a family Vault...you could contact the Cem.and find out if he is in it...(you would be better trying to locate his obit first)
Does this thread relate in any way to your Ward of Chancery thread...?

Apologies to one and all but AT LAST I have been able to dig out the information about our man!!
From The Times of India notices for 1863, the following marriage is announced: Henry Elliott Dashwood Bayley to Fanny Adelaide Fitzgerald [these are my Great Great Grandparents - and I'm lucky enough to have very good photographs of both of them!] on 7th April 1863 at Fort St George Madras . . . . "youngest daughter of the late William Barry Fitzgerald esq QC Dublin."
As I wrote above, the Indian Marriage Record [which I also have from the British Library] does not give the profession or whether dead/alive for bride's or groom's father's; this is always a tricky area, since many of this branch of my family were out in India during the Raj and inevitably many marriages took place out there. But we do have good family records which have been kept over the years, so I usually know that I am pointing in the right direction.
So, our WBF was indeed a QC and in Dublin.
Please, where do I go from here? I want to find out who he married, the other children they had and also where he might be buried so that I can find his headstone.
Anyone up for this, please? All help gratefully received.
Thank you. :-)

Nicola, I'm not sure that the Thoms will have the information your looking for, however there is the Treble Almanack, which includes the Petigrew and Oulton Directory for Dublin and Wilson Directory from 1751- 1837 also for Dublin

Oh, I thought that Thom's was like a Kelly's; i.e., more of a street directory.
I don't think it's me who has made reference to him being a QC? Kings Inn only confirmed that they had him in their records of Admission Papers, see above.
Thank you.

Is it possible for me to change the heading on this thread to "Thom's Directory, Dublin"?
That's really where this thread is heading now and I feel that it would be more accurate for all you enthusiastic GR's!
Thank you.

NB: I have been guided by a fellow GR to add the below update on to the end of this thread and not to open a fresh one. So here goes:-
THOM'S DIRECTORY:
I have been directed to Thom's Directory by Kings Inn, Dublin who have revealed that my WBF did indeed appear in their Admission Papers in Trinity Term 1811.
This gives us an approximate dob for him of c.1791.
My ancestor, WILLIAM BARRY FITZGERALD was a solicitor in Dublin of Blessington Street and died there in 1845 [I have found his burial record].
However, I cannot find either his birth record or more particularly any details of his practice in Dublin as a solicitor and Kings Inn don't have any details other than that he was apprenticed to a William Wildridge.
I have googled Thom's but they just want to sell me the CD!!
Can sks help me out on this one, please? I'm afraid that I know very little about Ireland/Dublin and am struggling.
All help gratefully received.
Many thanks.
Nicola
