Allan - what was her father's name and occupation on her marriage certificates? This is vital in order to trace her. |

Is this the marriage you think is theirs? |

Whereabouts did Mary die in 1947? And when and where did she marry Mr Kelly? |

Yes that was the marriage I thought was theirs! I got it from Free BMD. Because I don't have enough information yet to confirm I am at least looking in the right area, I haven't got the marriage certificate. I have to admit, I thought it strange they married in Leeds, when they were both from the south of England & were living in the south on the 1911 census. |

Have just noticed that on the original of the 1911 they have not entered anything in the column for marital status - it looks like the word "Married" was entered later by the census official. |

Allan, have just seen your response and agree you need to have a re-think! |

I cannot find any of the children's births! |

Emily Maude was my grandmother. She became E M Green. Her father was identified only as a labourer on the marriage certificate, I don't have her birth certificate yet. I do not know any details about Marys' marriage to Mr Kelly, other than the surname on the family headstone. |

Allan, might this be your Emily Maud's death? |

Mystery has always shrouded the staus of my grandmothers legitimacy. She was always a little slow in coming forwards when the subject came up & always happy when the subject changed apparently. I have had difficulty all along with the Harrison line. The 1911 family matches my knowledge of two of the children Emily & her brother Albert, but there could be another family Harrison with two siblings with the same name. I am sorry I cannot give anymore information, as I just don't have it. |

Yes, most families have those skeletons! |

Allan | Report | 30 Oct 2011 15:04 |
Yes they are my grandmothers birth & death records, 23.07.1908 & 30.09.1990 respectively. |

MarieCeleste | Report | 30 Oct 2011 15:09 |
Allan, the death record gives her birth year as 1904, but you say birth 1908? |
|||
|
tempest | Report | 30 Oct 2011 15:29 |
just throwing that date of birth in the mix for 1904 |

I always believed Emily was from Slough Berkshire, which is why I think the 1911 census is the correct family. How my Grandparents met I don't know. Whether Grans family moved up to Leeds or my grandfather was stationed down in Berkshire in the army I just don't know |

Did I say she was born 1908. If so I am sorry, she was definitely born in 1904. |
