I found the marriage of William Smith to Eliza Mardling they married in 1893 in St Albans and I no they had a son called Frederick born abt 1899 in St Albans Hertfordshire

So they weren't living in St Albans.............

1901 Is this the family although he parents dates of birth are not the same as you stated
